"Fabulous 3 star hotel"

We stayed at Browns Beach Hotel for 4 days. We had a beach front room which was great. The beach is clean and safe and the sellers were friendly. The hotel staff were all polite and helpful, the food was excellent with lots of choice.

Like most of the other reviewers we were really surprised by the really good quality and choice of the food at the hotel. Usually we eat out of the hotel, but this time the food and selection was fab so ate at the hotel a lot especially as the all you can eat buffet is less than £5 a head!
Also the upgrade to a beach cabana was worth every penny
Nightlife is very low key in S.L, the most action seemed to be at Rodeo where there's more going on and good to chat to the locals.
Went on the usual trips....inland to see the cultural sights (3 days) and then the next week down south to Galle and Hikkaduwa both were well worth the money. The bonus of swimming with the giant wild turtles at Hikkaduwa marine reserve. Travelling around is exhausting...bad roads, traffic and the heat made us really tired so don't try to cram too much in if possible.
We were lucky to have some good company at the hotel and on our trips....Pedro and Paul kept us entertained throughout and the water aerobics had to be seen to be believed!
Missing Sri Lanka already...

Got married at this hotel earlier this month, can’t speak highly enough about the place, the staff cannot do enough for you-whatever you require it always comes with a big genuine smile, food was superb, our wedding was perfect down to the last detail ,we arranged an elephant for the wedding. Go to browns beach, take a tour with lucky, take a catamaran trip from the beach guys, and enjoy to the max, there were 30 people in our party and all 30 wish to return, so what if it needsa lick of paint here and there that does not take away the beauty of the place or the friendliness of the staff
