Sinharaja is Sri Lanka\u2019s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest and one of the island\u2019s most important centres of endemism. The UNESCO World Heritage property covers 8,864 hectares, with more than 60% of its trees considered endemic and many regarded as rare.
