The Watchers of the Canopy

A still moment in the canopy, but a life deeply woven into the forest. Endemic to Sri Lanka, the purple-faced langur is a specialist leaf-eater, relying on a complex, multi-chambered stomach to digest tough rainforest foliage that few other mammals can process. By moving slowly through the upper branches and feeding selectively, it helps shape forest growth while rarely touching the ground. Shy, intelligent, and increasingly threatened by habitat loss, this quiet primate is a powerful reminder of how delicate, and interconnected, rainforest life truly is.
